meso-Erythritol is a compound used in cell culture to differentiate bacteria based on carbohydrate fermentation ability. Erythritol may be a ligand for the T1R3 receptor and is a precursor to L-erythrulose. It is useful in supporting the carbon source growth requirement of Gluconobacter bacteria. Methotrexate sodium salt is an anti-cancer agent that works by inhibiting folic acid metabolism. Methotrexate is an allosteric dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) inhibitor. DHFR is is an essential enzyme in folic acid metabolism. Folic acid is necessary for production of thymidine and purine; therefore, methotrexate is a nucleic acid synthesis inhibitor. It is freely soluble in aqueous solution.

Mezlocillin sodium is an extended-spectrum β-lactam antibiotic of the penicillin family. It targets gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.

Miconazole Nitrate is an imidazole antifungal targeting fungi responsible for causing tinea, especially Trichophyton species. It is an ergosterol synthesis inhibitor, which ultimately increases cell membrane permeability and causes fungal cell death. Miconazole nitrate inhibits platelet cyclooxygenase and induces reactive oxygen species in fungal biofilms. Additionally, miltefosine is used against leishmaniasis and metronidazole-resistant and -susceptible strains of Trichomonas vaginalis. It is studied for its potential use as an anticancer agent.

Minocycline HCl is a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic. It has been shown to inhibit endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis, MMP-3, PARP, and the replication of HIV and SIV. It has also displayed anti-inflammatory and anti-collagenase activity. Minocycline HCl is freely soluble in aqueous solution.

Mitomycin C is an antineoplastic antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces caespitosus. It is effective against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and a variety of cancer cells, including Ehrlich ascites tumor cells.
