Low Melt Agarose

Catalog ID Size Pricing
A-204-25 25 g $ 145.00
A-204-100 100 g $ 315.00

Description

Low Melting (LM) Agarose is a low melting temperature agarose with the highest resolving capacity for large DNA fragments, including PCR products.

Low melting temperature allows for the recovery of undamaged nucleic acids below denaturation temperature. Low gelling temperature ensures In-Gel applications can be performed in remelted agarose, avoiding difficult DNA extraction steps.

Low Melting Agarose is ideal for digestion by agarose enzymes, which makes it very easy to recover large DNA fragments suitable for cloning or enzymatic processing.

L-145-50 50 g $ 654.00
L-145-100 100 g $ 1,163.00

Description

Horseradish peroxidase is a common marker enzyme for antibodies, and can catalyze the chemiluminescent oxidation of luminol in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. This transformation is used in ultra-sensitive ELISA assays. Luminescence can be detected at very low levels using extremely sensitive scintillation counters.

Luminol is also used for the detection of blood stains in criminal investigation. For this, luminol is mixed with a liquid containing hydrogen peroxide. If the mixture comes in contact with hemoglobin, the iron in the hemoglobin accelerates chemiluminescent oxidation of luminol.

Description

Lysozyme is an enzyme capable of breaking down the bacterial cell wall, and is typically used to enhance protein extractions or nucleic acid extractions. It works by hydrolyzing the 1,4-β-linkages located between the N-acetylmuramic acid and the N-acetyl-D-glucosamine residues in peptidoglycan.

Gram-positive cells have an increased susceptibility to the actions of lysozyme since gram-positive cells have a higher quantity of peptidoglycan in the cell wall. Gram-negative cells are less vulnerable, but can still be hydrolyzed in the presence of EDTA.

Description

GoldBIo Orange 6x DNA Loading Dye is pre-mixed buffer for tracking the DNA sample during the electrophoresis on agarose or polyacrylamide gels. It contains one dye (Orange G) for tracking the DNA migration.

The Orange G migrates at approximately 50 bp on a standard 1% TAE agarose gel (30 bp on 2% TAE agarose gel). The included glycerol keeps the DNA at the bottom of the well and the presence of EDTA chelates divalent metal ions to prevent the process of metal-dependent nuclease.
