Description

Streptomycin Sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic commonly used in molecular biology and cell culture research for bacterial selection and contamination control. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, interfering with translation and promoting misreading of mRNA. Streptomycin is particularly active against many gram-negative bacteria and Mycobacterium species.

Provided as a water-soluble powder, Streptomycin Sulfate allows you to prepare antibiotic solutions at concentrations suited to their specific experiments. It is useful for cell culture media supplementation, bacterial growth inhibition, antimicrobial susceptibility studies, and research into mechanisms of streptomycin resistance.
