Description
Luciferin is a common bioluminescent reporter used for in vivo imaging of the expression of luciferase. This water soluble substrate for the firefly luciferase enzyme utilizes ATP and Mg2+ as cofactors to emit a characteristic yellow-green emission in the presence of oxygen, which shifts to red light in vivo at 37°C. Through the utilization of ATP, the reaction can be further used to indicate the presence of energy or life in order to function as a life-death stain.
Luciferin is a common reagent used throughout the biotechnology field and specifically for in vivo imaging. Luciferase labeled tumor cells, stem cells or infectious diseases are often inoculated into research animals such as rats or mice for investigation. The injection of luciferin allows for the real-time, noninvasive monitoring of disease progression and/or drug efficacy in these model systems through Bioluminescence Imaging (BLI).
Luciferin is also commonly used for in vitro research, including luciferase and ATP assays, gene reporter assays, high throughput sequencing and various contamination assays. ®

DMNPE-caged luciferin can be used to measure intracellular functions since it readily crosses cell membranes. Once it is inside the cell, active luciferin can be released by UV light or by the action of endogenous intracellular esterases. DMNPE-caged luciferin makes it easier to follow the changes in gene expression in live cells. It can also be used in combination with DMNPE-caged ATP.

Description
GoldBio’s Illumination™ Renilla Luciferase Enhanced Assay Kit is specifically designed for the measurement of Renilla luciferase in transfected cell reporter gene assays. This kit is enhanced with a water soluble coelenterazine that is easier to use and store than other conventional coelenterazine products.
Renilla luciferase is a commonly used bioluminescent reporter gene that is used to study gene regulation and function both in vivo as well as in vitro. Renilla luciferase is a monomeric 36 kDa protein isolated from the sea pansy, Renilla reniformis, which catalyzes coelenterazine with oxygen to produce a blue light (480 nm). There is no need for any post-translational modifications and the protein may be used as a gene reporter immediately after translation. Our Enhanced Assay Kit includes a special buffer which is designed to yield reliable, linear measurements of Renilla luciferase activity with maximum sensitivity and minimal autoluminescence. This kit is a flash-type luminescent assay, and requires measurement immediately after adding the substrate to the sample.
One Assay can be performed in a single tube or an individual well on a 96 well plate. The kits include enough Passive Lysis Buffer to perform the stated number of assays in plate sizes ranging from 96-well to 24-well. If needed, additional 5X Passive Lysis Buffer (GoldBio Catalog # L-745) can be purchased separately.

Description
GoldBio’s Illumination™ Firefly & Renilla Luciferase Enhanced Assay Kit is a combined luciferase assay allowing the sequential measurement of Firefly and Renilla luciferase activity in the same sample while still retaining the highest degree of sensitivity, reliability and linearity that you want in your assay. Firefly activity is measured first, then the Renilla Luciferase Assay Buffer is added to the sample to simultaneously extinguish all firefly luciferase activity to the level of untransformed cells and begins the Renilla luciferase activity. This great luciferase combo allows the sequential measurement of both luciferase assays in the same sample without additional hassle.
This kit is a flash-type luminescent assay, and requires measurement immediately after adding the detection reagents to the sample. The Enhanced Assay Kit includes our water soluble coelenterazine that is easier to use and store than other conventional coelenterazine products.
One Assay can be performed in a single tube or an individual well on a 96 well plate. The kits include enough Passive Lysis Buffer to perform the stated number of assays in plate sizes ranging from 96-well to 24-well.

Description
H-Ala-pNAHCl is a substrate for L-alanine aminopeptidase, which is an enzyme that is localized in bacterial cell walls responsible for the cleavage of L-alanine from various peptides. Significant L-alanine aminopeptidase activity is specific to gram-negative microbes. Therefore, H-Ala-pNAHCl can be used in support of evidence that an organism is gram-positive or gram-negative. It is split by L-alanine aminopeptide into L-alanine and 4-nitroanine. The latter compound causes bacterial suspensions to turn yellow.

Description
L-Fucose is a six-carbon deoxy monosaccharide that is equivalent to 6-deoxy-L-galactose. L-Fucose is found on many N- and O-linked glycans present on the cell surface of a wide variety of organisms. The most well-known fucosylated glycans are the ABO blood group antigens. L-fucose present in gastrointestinal mucous represses virulence factor-encoding genes expressed by enterohemorrhagic E. coli. Mutations in the gene that encodes alpha-L-fucosidase can cause fucosidosis, leading to a buildup of fucose-containing compounds which cause cellular malfunction.
