Catalog ID | Size | Pricing | |

A-552-1 | 1 g | $ 84.00 | |

Description
Amoxicillin/Clavulanate combines an extended-spectrum β-lactam antibiotic with a β-lactamase inhibitor. Amoxicillin is an extended-spectrum ß-lactam antibiotic with a structure similar to that of ampicillin. It is effective against a variety of ß-lactamase negative bacteria including E. coli and various Streptococcus and Staphylococcus bacteria; however, when combined with clavulanic acid, ß-lactamase enzymes are irreversibly inactivated. Consequently, amoxicillin/clavulanate is effective against ß-lactamase-negative and ß-lactamase-positive bacteria.

Description
GoldBio’s new Auxo-Agro™ competent cells are methionine auxotrophic strains of Agrobacterium which reduce overgrowth during the infection process while increasing plant transformation efficiency.
Our EHA105 strain of Agrobacterium tumefaciens
can be used in genetic transformation of tomato, tobacco and other
plants. After transformation, antibiotics are commonly used to remove
Agrobacterium. However, even in the presence of antibiotics, there can be overgrowth of the Agrobacterium strain
which can create a more difficult experimental protocol. Auxo-Agro™
cells help to solve this problem when selection is performed in both
minimal media without Methionine in combination with selective
antibiotics, such as Timentin, Cefotaxime or Meropenem.
GoldBio’s EHA105 Agrobacterium chemically competent cells allow you
to obtain high transformation efficiency in applications such as gDNA or
cDNA library construction. Our EHA105 strain harbors a rifampicin resistance (rif) gene.

Description
The Bacterial Cell Lysis Kit has been developed for the extraction of biologically active, soluble proteins and inclusion bodies from bacterial cells. The Bacterial Lysis Buffer is a proprietary improvement on the lysozyme based lysis method, which allows extraction of soluble proteins and concurrent removal of nucleic acids (DNA & RNA) released during cell lysis. The kit’s lysis eliminates viscosity build-up, allowing effective clarification with lower centrifugal forces.

---|---|---|---|
C-070-10 | 10 g | $ 101.00 | |
C-070-25 | 25 g | $ 201.00 |
Description
Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) is the active component of propolis, a honeybee hive product. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester is a specific inhibitor of the nuclear transcription factor, NF-κB. CAPE has been shown to significantly suppress the Lipoxygenase pathway of arachidonic acid metabolism during inflammation. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester inhibits HIV-1 integrase, and also inhibits proliferation of transformed cells. It induces apoptosis in transformed fibroblasts, and interferes with EGF signal transduction affecting both protein kinase C and Ornithine Decarboxylase activity.

Description
Camptothecin is an alkaloid compound used as an anti-cancer agent. It is a topoisomerase I inhibitor in DNA synthesis. Camptothecin has been shown to bind and stabilize a topoisomerase I-DNA complex in vitro, preventing the enzyme from reannealing DNA strands. This inhibition specifically effects the S-phase of cell development and ultimately results in apoptosis due to damaged DNA.
Camptothecin is produced by endosymbiotic fungi, from the division Ascomycota (Phycomycete), that are present in the tree Camptotheca acuminata which is native to southern China. Camptothecin (Mappia foetida), (GoldBio Catalog # C-565) has also been isolated from fungi on Mappia foetida (Nothapodytes foetida), a plant common to India.

Description
CAPS is a zwitterionic buffering agent used in biochemistry and molecular biology. It is a cyclohexylamine buffer that is useful for a pH range of 9.7 – 11.1 and commonly used to study enzymatic processes above physiological pH. CAPS is an excellent buffer for the transfer of high molecular weight proteins to nitrocellulose membranes after SDS-PAGE. It is also used in protein sequencing. CAPS displays only weak or negligible complexation capabilities for some metals making it a suitable non-coordinating buffer for use in solutions containing metal ions. CAPS is suitable for use with the bicinchoninic acid (BCA) assay.
