Ticarcillin disodium salt
Product Description
Ticarcillin is a carboxypenicillin used to treat gram-negative bacteria like Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. An alternative to ampicillin it can be used to test the presence of marker genes in bacteria, while preventing the appearance of satellite colonies occurring during the ampicillin breakdown. In plants it kills Agrobacterium used to deliver plant cells. A 15:1 mixture of ticarcillin and clavulanate is commonly called TimentinTM is stronger than ticarcillin alone.
