Deep Dive into Eluting Antibodies from Protein A, Protein G and Protein L Agarose Beads
If you’re using Protein A, Protein G, or Protein L agarose beads to purify antibodies, then a key st...
Glycine has many applications. As an amino acid, it is found as a biological molecule in the central nervous system and has inhibitory effect, especially in the spinal cord, brainstem and retina; and is also a precursor to proteins. In eukaryotes it is an important precursor to porphyrins, and provides the C2N subunit of all purines. For the purposes of testing glycine is a significant component of some solutions used in SDS-PAGE protein analysis as a buffering agent and for removing labelling antibodies from Western Blot membranes. Glycine methyl ester is a reagent used in chemical synthesis, it can synthesize selenohydantoins when used in addition to isoselenocyanate.
