Product Description

DL-3-Hydroxybutyric acid ethyl ester is a solution containing Ethyl 3-hydroxybutyrate, a common food flavoring agent and can be produced by the microbial reduction of ethyl acetoacetate. It can form biodegradable biopolymers in the presence of glycerol and is used as reagent in the synthesis of beta-hydroxyesters.
