The Ultimate Guide to Proteinase K Activity & Concentration (u/ml)
From time to time, we have received questions about whether knowing proteinase K activity (u/ml) w...
DNase I (Deoxyribonuclease I) is a dialyzed lyophilized powder from bovine pancreas that has been purified by chromatography.
Bovine pancreatic deoxyribonuclease (DNase) is an endonuclease, which splits phosphodiester linkages preferentially adjacent to a pyrimidine nucleotide yielding polynucleotides with a free hydroxyl group at the 3' position and a phosphate group at the 5' position. The optimum pH is 7.8.
DNase I is activated by bivalent metals and inhibited by chelating agents such as EDTA and SDS. DNase I can be stabilized against proteolytic digestion by 5mM Ca2+.

Deoxyribonuclease I
DNase I, Bovine Pancreas >2000 Kunitz U/mg
Unit Definition: One Kunitz Unit will produce an A260 of 0.001 per minute at pH 5.0 at 25°C using DNA, type I or III as the substrate.
MOLECULAR BIOLOGY GRADE
Storage/Handling: Store desiccated at -20°C.
Allow product to come to room temperature before opening.
For greatest stability, it is important that DNase to be dissolved at a concentration of at least 1 mg/ml in 50% glycerol with 20mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, and 1mM MgCl2.
